Peter Obi Hints The End Of Labour Party Is Near
By Dailytab24.
Peter Obi has reacted to the problem that has eaten deep into Labour Party, disclosing that Obidients might leave the party if the party leadership continues to play politics of personal interest.
The party is currently suffering from political disharmony – a quest for party leadership involving Nigerian Labour Congress and the Party leadership.
Nigerian Labour Congress is claiming the original owner of the party while Abure, LP national chairman is saying there is distinct line between political party and civil organization.
Peter Obi, a former PDP stalwart who left the party after he was denied the party ticket – after Peoples Democratic Party had decided to zone the presidential ticket of the party to the South, but changed the gentleman’s agreement in the last minute.
Atiku Abubarka won the party nomination and divided the party along regional line.
Wike and Peter Obi who were the major aspirants then got broken and acted differently.
Peter Obi quickly left the party for Labour Party, while Wike stayed behind to play strategic game of politics.
“If we can’t change them, we will leave” Peter Obi pinpointed, noting that he wants to focus on making Nigeria great and not playing political games.
Peter Obi has proven in the past that he can change the fortunes of any party. He can also organically register a party and make a difference with it, that is the weight of the former Anambra State governor who is determined to change the system with Nigerian youth.
He doesn’t play games when it comes to leaving any party that fails to meet his standard.
Peter Obi sees the politics being played with Labour Party as a distraction, while boasting that his Obidients’ movement is well focused on making Nigeria work for everyone, irrespective of religion or region.
He also noted that the crisis in the party is the work of the opposition to distract him and his movement, while insisting that his Obidents’ movement will not fall for the political game.
He further encouraged his supporters to remain focused and work hard towards saving the country from monumental collapse.
“We think about water” he said of the party crisis. “we are thinking about power, we are thinking about employment, thinking about security. That should be our focus”
Obi with his supporters have promised to change Nigeria and restore the lost glory of the country. He has also often distanced himself from Nigerian politics, and opposed to the brand of politics played by most Nigerian politicians.
The former Anambra State governor did not disclose the party he is likely to choose, but Obidients could force him to register a brand new party, with the confidence they can build it to challenge top political parties in the country.
Obidients are more than capable and have distanced itself from Labour Party, while noting that Obidients only used Labour Party to pursue their dream of reshaping Nigeria.
They have also noted that Obidients are not politicians but Nigerians of all spheres, who share in the common dream of coming together to fight for the good of Nigeria.
Should Peter Obi leave Labour Party, that would mark the end of the party Nigerians thought would change the status quo.
