While the passion of Christ celebration rings out throughout the country, the President of Nigeria, Bola Amed Tinubu has shared warm compliment of the season with Christians in the country.
While putting out his message, he did not fail to hammer on the importance of patient, as he has long been pleading for time to pilot the affairs of the country and restore the economy of the country to its best shape.
Nigeria is a secular country, but has seen the office of the country occupied by Muslims in the past nine years. Every President must eschew bigotry to ensure easy flow of the religious inter-proceedings in the country.
The President is widely seen as a moderate Muslim, compared to his predecessor. Muhammadu Buhari is seen as a chronic Muslim or Islamic bigot.
President Tinubu is married to First-lady Remi Tinubu, who is a pastor, and that virtue shows the extent of President Tinubu’s secularity.
Many wondered how he was able to cope with a pastor as a wife, owing to the fact that Islamic doctrines discourage marrying a non-Muslim.
Recently, the First Lady was attacked for being a Pastor by a Muslim. The cyber stalker accused the First Lady of being an infidel and deserves to be killed. The security agents of the country took the issue serious and quickly intervened to avoid what could be a cyber norm.
Speaking on the Easter, the President celebrated with Christians in the country and urged them to learn from the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.
Christians remember the sufferings and eventual death of Jesus Christ every year. This remembrance always reflects on the final days of Jesus Christ, with most Christians recreating the burden of the cross in various churches across the country.
He urged Christians to replicate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in their pursuit of a united, peaceful and prosperous nation – noting that the history of Jesus Christ is a learning curve for everyone, irrespective of religions. He also urged leaders to embrace empathy and be consistent in ensuring Nigeria succeeds.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale who issued the statement in the capacity of the President’s Special Adviser on Media took notice of the sacrifices Nigerians have made in the past few months. He said the sacrifices was “for the nation to be steered to the path of recovery and sustainable growth”
Immediately after the election, President Tinubu’s regime faced massive economic downturn that nearly forced Dollar to hit 2000. The country was put to test, but Nigerians persevered, with every negative efforts to force citizens to protest massively made futile. The President recognized that sacrifice and thanked Nigerians.
“The seeds of patience which they have sown are beginning to sprout and will in no time bring forth an abundance of good fruits” the statement said in appreciation of Christians and Nigerians entirely.
The President assured Nigerians that his administration will lead Nigeria to success and “triumph over its challenges” recommitting himself to fighting till the end.
