Israeli Government Takes Unexpected Decision Against US

After weeks of diplomacy and insistence on Israel recognizing Palestine state by United States, Israeli government has unanimously declared against the move, marking a first time the Middle East democracy is blatantly turning against its strongest western ally.
US Democrats often find it tough standing with Israel internal policies, while Republicans do more to endear Israel. Under Obama, the bilateral relationship of the countries was fractured while being managed to sustain the key aspects of duties US owe Israel.
Biden’s Democrats have fought and struggled to avoid returning the fractures that existed during Obama, but it appears the effort didn’t yield. While there is a standing policy within Biden’s administration to avoid publicly attacking Israeli overall policies, the recent unanimous declaration by Israel shows the cracks are widening.
When the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken was dispatched to the Middle East, he came back with a message of Israel recognizing or setting pathway to Palestine State, he went further to disclose that the recognition of a Palestine state would be the recipe for total acceptance of Israel by all Arabs in the region.
Speaking after his tour, Blinken said many Arab countries are willing to normalize ties with Israel and recognize the existence of Israel, on the condition that Israel will recognize the statehood of Palestine. He further explained that recognizing Palestinian state would solve all security problems of Israel. Blinken issued a veiled threat to Israel, in what appears to be a preemptive measure against Israel’s rejection of the recognition of Palestinian state.
There have been reports of internal rift between Israel and Biden’s administration. It is largely believed that Netanyahu is not listening to Biden and making things harder for him. Biden sees Netanyahu’s policies as a threat to his support among Muslim voters in the US. Knowing the US cannot blatantly turn against Israel, Netanyahu appears to be using it as leverage against Biden. A recent report disclosed Biden attacked Netanyahu privately.
In several press conferences; Netanyahu has declared that his government would not recognize Palestine state and said that the path to Palestine statehood has been made even harder with the invasion of Israel on 7th October. He further declared that he would not accept any precondition for ties normalization.
In reaction to the diplomatic moves made by United States to precondition ties normalization on recognition of a Palestine state, Benjamin Netanyahu assembled the government of Israel where a deliberation was made regarding the position of United States. The declaration completely turned against Biden’s Middle East policies.
After today’s government meeting, a unanimous decision was made in quote “Israel utterly rejects international diktats regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians. A settlement, if it is to be reached, will come about solely through direct negations between the parties, without preconditions”
The government of Israel further stated in the declaratory statement that they would continue to oppose ‘unilateral recognition of Palestinian state” by any other country or institution. They further warned that such recognition would be a “reward for terrorism” hence the recognition is coming after the massacre of Israel.
The government further warned that recognition of Palestine state would be a threat to peace in the region, while acknowledging circumstances must be right for the parties to agree and bring about lasting peace in the region.
