Can Joe Biden be impeached by Republican House majority?

Impeachment is underway for Joe Biden after a lengthy consideration by the Republican House majority. Articles of impeachment were read out by McCarthy the House majority leader, confirming the U.S. House of Reps. would move for impeachment. The impeachment was significantly delayed by the majority leader after Republican House majority pressured him to affirm impeachment proceeding against President Biden.

The impeachment bothers on business dealings that involved Joe Biden and his son – businesses the position of his father were used to influence. The onus was on the House to prove that Joe Biden took part in the businesses; a burden of proof the House Republicans believe has been addressed.

The House Oversight Committee worked extensively with whistleblowers and witnesses that came along and was convinced Joe Biden actively participated to use his office and influence payments into his family’s account by Ukrainian oil company boss and other payments made for the same purpose.

Millions of dollars was uncovered to have been sent to Biden’s family who owns no known business. Biden’s son was accused of using his father’s office at the discretion of his father, who supported and aided the payments. House Oversight Committee was able to speak to witnesses and whistleblowers that confirmed President Joe Biden sat with his son and coordinated the payments that were made to the family’s account.

The impeachment is bound to scale through in the House, but the Senate will likely take down the impeachment. In the U.S. system, the House and Senate must jointly agree with two third/simple majority vote for any impeachment to be carried. While the House prepares to push the impeachment, the Senate waits patiently for it to be turned down.

U.S. Senate is controlled by the Democrats, giving the needed balance to the legislative arm of the government. Republicans control the House of Rep. while Democrats control the Senate, and any impeachment would hit a rock should the senate turn it down. It would take the majority votes of the lower and upper chambers for any impeachment to scale through.

The impeachment is considered a partisan issue, and when such is the case, the chambers vote according to party affiliation. The Senate is most likely to vote along party line, which would ultimately lead to failure of the impeachment. Republicans have been accused by Democrats of pursuing irrelevant issues while the country is in need of bipartisan legislations to make America better.

Republicans would need the House and Senate majority for any impeachment to be successful. But with Democrats in control of Senate, the impeachment proceeding against President Joe Biden is now being viewed as waste of time. Some Republicans believe the Senate would easily turn down the impeachment, should it get to the Senate chamber.

Trump was once impeached by the Democrats controlled House but was turned down by the Senate controlled Republicans. This move is seen as revenge, and it is bound to be equal, when it comes to result. The House Republicans know they cannot impeach President Joe Biden, but can gain off it politically.
