Kamala Harris subtly admits Joe Biden needs to quit due to age

U.S vice president Kamala Harris and other Democrats party members will continue to face questions regarding Joe Biden’s competence to run for second term. In Indonesia for the Southeast Asian Nations Summit, journalists were offered another opportunity to field the question concerning the President’s age. Harris was clear this time around, subtly admitting she might step in for Joe Biden.
“Every vice president – every vice president understands that when they take the oath they must be very clear about the responsibility they may have to take over the job of being president” she said, even though she might not have directly admitted that Joe Biden needs a compulsory retirement, but her speech of taking over from Biden does same as direct acceptance of compulsory retirement.
Joe Biden will be 81 in November – his age to rule America has come into question more than his competence. Four years ago, nobody was talking about his age, it was all about the wealth of experience he has and would bring to the White House. But circumstances have changed the narrative; the dementia-like-stricken President of the United States of America has come under strong criticism.
There is a campaign in US for aged leaders to leave the stage and take care of their health; Joe Biden is not the only victim of age within the leadership circle of US. McConnell, Kentucky Republican Senator is another, 81 years of age, he freezes and unfreezes during public events like press conference and address.
Despite being a minority leader, McConnell finds his job quite stressing and which leads to switching off for moments. Joe Biden is not known for going blank, but speaking out of order and sometimes losing conscious of his environment. On local and international stages, Joe Biden has fumbled and found it hard to update his surroundings.
Trump who initially decided to steer clear the health discussion about Biden finally embraced it, after his first indictment. He argued that Biden’s unconsciousness has little to do with age, saying he has older friends that are hale and hearty – sound and conscious of their surroundings. He attributed Joe Biden’s issue to health, saying he is unhealthy.
Dementia often comes at old age, which is the wider belief and it has taken toll on Biden, who is seen as incapable of leading America. In some quarters, there are calls for him to go home and consider his health, spend time with his family and give priority attention to his aging body.
His handlers are not taking any of it and have refused to answer questions regarding the President’s health. Critics say Joe Biden is being pushed to continue or run for the 2024 presidential election for what they would gain and not in the best interest of the man himself.
From Trump, the reason for Joe Biden’s insistence is purely business and because his family has no business but survive with his political brand. Trump’s camp believes Joe Biden is being pushed by his family because Biden’s retirement will be the end of the family’s business.
Often, there has been discussion on alternative candidate for Democrats, but Joe Biden continues to wield his influence in the party – being unopposed leader of the party. Only Joe Biden will decide his future, everyone within the party knows – the party cannot force him out or choose a candidate that’s not him.
If Kamala Harris would take over from Joe Biden, it would only be the decision of Joe Biden and Harris would not love to oppose the President he once opposed in a primary election.
