Pastors’ war in Nigeria: Dr. Abel Damina provides evidence that he is one of the founders of Dunamis Church Intl.
Background
Pastor, Dr. Abel Damina has provided evidence against Dunamis Church International, after a proxy of the church came out last week to publicly denounce the claim made by Dr. Abel Damina, who said he was one of the founders of the Abuja based church.
The claim made by Dr. Abel Damina caused controversies online as the proxies of Dunamis Church came down heavily on him for being a liar from the pit of hell.
While the church did not officially reply to the controversial preacher, a member whose name was mentioned by Dr. Abel Damina categorically denied all the claims the pastor made, hence creating the impression that pastor Abel Damina is a liar.
The impression was going to be a question mark on the further claims and preaching of pastor Abel Damina. Hence, the pastor dug deeper to provide convincing evidence.
Speaking in a podcast anchored by a Nigerian celebrity, Edu Wazobia, Dr. Abel Damina claimed that he was one of the founders of Dunamis Church International and narrated that the church was started in a room (parlour) of one of the founding members of the church.
The mentioned member quickly took to the social media to deny the claim made by Dr. Abel Damina.
The Evidence
Reacting to the denial, Dr. Abel Damina has provided what he tagged evidence of being one of the founders of the church.
The evidence is a notice published on three Nigerian national dailies dated February 17, 1997. The notice was a registration awareness, which involves the three names of the trustees of the church, which the name of Dr. Abel Damina appeared thereof.
The evidence has changed the narrative and turned Dunamis Church that used its proxy to attack the character and integrity of Dr. Abel Damina who confessed in a podcast that he was one of the founders of the church into the hunted.
The evidence puts to rest any opposition to the narrative made available by Dr. Abel Damina.
The evidence can not be argued or altered as it was directly from an official source with a historic presence.
The evidence further showed that Dr. Abel Damina was one of the founders of the church, having been publicly acknowledged as a trustee whose signature was part of those who registered the church.
Being one of the three people who registered the church, it implies that he was one of the founders of the church that later became a top and international church with millions of members.
Dr. Abel Damina Change
Dr. Abel Damina became a controversial figure after he changed his preaching from prosperity to more realistic preaching.
He apologized for deceiving the public with his prosperity preaching and changed to a realist.
He then began to be critical of other pastors whose preaching solely focused on prosperity, demanding of them to turn a new leaf as he did.
He also recalled all the books he wrote on how to make money through Jesus Christ and burnt the rest of the prosperity books he authored.
His preaching became a social media meme and brought a significant divide among Nigerian Christians.
Supporters
Supporters of the pastor said that his preaching is a true reflection of the changing world and an eye opening for those that have lost everything or continue to enrich men of God on the ground that Jesus ordered them to pay or give everything they have to the church.
They also said that the church has failed to contribute positively to the people and country.
Furthermore, they said that the preaching of Dr. Abel Damina will change the narratives and turn the church from consumers to producers. And that with the preaching of Abel Damina, the church owners that turned themselves into demi-gods can be controlled.
In Nigeria, churches have embraced taking and taking without considering giving back to society.
The preaching of giving stems from tithe and offering, with many churches preaching that without giving 10% of everything one has, he can not make heaven.
The preaching has sank well into the society, hence has made pastors one of the richest people in Nigerian and elsewhere.
Critics
Critics of Dr. Abel Damina said that his preaching is causing divide among Christians in the country and also bringing mockery to the body of Christ.
Critics want the pastor to stop being critical of other pastors preaching prosperity gospel and should do more to speak about his belief than making contrasts.
The critics want a change and say that his preaching is rearing the heads of anti-Christ as it opens the flaws of pastors in the country.
The use of the memes of Dr. Abel Damina now top the chart in the country, with all critics and unbelievers posting the video of his preaching to mock pastors and their preaching in the country.
The critics are more of passionate Christians who have lost their senses of objectivity and only want to do everything to preserve the church wrongs.
They also see radical change as the fall of the church in Nigeria, while insisting the status quo should be maintained.
His critics are also some of the members of the churches that have been exposed for commercial value and dealings. Such critics don’t want to see the objectivity of the preaching of Dr. Abel Damina, but only want him out of the way to save the face of their churches.
Conclusion
Dr. Abel Damina continues to oppose prosperity preaching and discourage extortion in the church. He is pushing for a radical change in the Christendom, where preachers can go about their preaching without demanding payment of any nature in return.
He continues to ask pastors to open businesses and should not rely on their churches as their source of income.
He is also of the belief that as soon as prosperity and money preaching in the church are uprooted, it will purify the church of commercially minded pastors and bring out the best in the church.
Churches in Nigeria are now focused on money making, with the preaching of tithe, offering, and first fruit dominating the custom of churches in Nigeria.
The preachers have planted in the sub consciousness of the people that without paying or contributing financially to the church, they won’t prosper and in some cases, some preachers say members will not make heaven if they fail to contribute financially.
By presenting the evidence, the public confidence in the preaching of Dr. Abel Damina will be reinforced, and those opposed to his preaching or narratives will be seen as liars trying to pull him down.
