Local hackers hack into the EFCC system, changes their logo
Local hackers in Nigeria have hacked into the system of the country’s anti-finacial crime agents and changed the logo of the financial security institution.
The hack was aimed to embarrass the institution, which has been doing a commendable job to address prevalent financial related crimes in the country.
In recent times, the institution has faced criticisms for going against cyber criminals who are constantly on the prowl in the country, leaving the political echelon that has eaten the country dry.
The local cyber criminals in the country focus on international fraud, which involves romance and sometimes credit card related crimes.
The hackers are believed to be from the local Yahoo syndicate, a group in the country known for using romance to lure victims into their net of fraudulent love and, in return, demand for money.
They changed the Economic and Financial Crime Commission’s logo from Eagle to Chicken, passing a clear message of superiority.
The Commission has not made a comment regarding the hack, and neither has any group taken responsibility.
