Mali — more than three dozens of people killed within three hours
Yet to be known gun_carrying terrorists have attacked residents of a village in central Mali, according to multiple media reports.
This follows in the trend of incessant attacks on innocent people in Mali. The government appears hapless, with timely military intervention quite complicated.
The military ruled country is at the verge of dwindling security, with the military lacking the morale to confront and end terrorist activities in the country.
In Djiguibombo village in Mopti region, the terrorists struck devastatingly. Central Mali is not strange to such news, terrorists thrive in this area for almost a decade now.
There is unclear know of the terror group that is in control of the area. al-Qaeda and ISIL have often claimed responsibility for attacks in the north and central of Mali.
The momentum of the terrorists in the affected area has been on upward trajectory, with Mali’s military and citizens victims of the attacks.
Mali is in need of help to conquer the terrorist groups operating in that axis, but a new alliance means transitioning will take quite some time to bring a level of control.
Russia is significantly substituting the West since the military takeover of the country, leading to disbanding of coalitions sponsored by the West that are fighting ISIS and al-Qaeda in the country.
Reuters News Agency reported that the mayor of Bankass spoke to its reporters to confirm the seriousness of the attack
“It was a very serious attack, armed men surrounded the village and shot at people,” Moulaye Guindo said to Reuters.
The number of those killed cannot be identified as at the time of filing this report. Emergency groups within the community have stepped up effort to save those they can.
In a reveal to Reuters, anonymous sources said more than 40 were killed. The number is likely to rise after the dust had settled completely.
“It was carnage, they surrounded the village where there was a wedding … There was panic, some people managed to flee, but many were killed, most of them men,” said one of the village officials to Reuters.
“People are said to still be looking for their loved ones, the number of deaths cannot be clarified just yet” a native of Bankass told Dailytab24 when contacted via social media handle, noting his brothers at home informed him.

In Africa, after each terror attack, residents flee the affected area because military intervention barely address the situation.
The people fear that the terrorists can overpower the security.
“There is yet to be official claim for responsibility. The attack is most likely to be carried out by ISIL or al-Qaeda” our reporter commented.
Often, terrorists attach no demand to stopping attack, and neither have they declared their motive except for the purpose of terror.
Since 2015 the terrorists began their onslaught, they have seized and lost territories, and expected to squarely face the government forces and not the citizens that have nothing to do with the purposes.
“They do this to put pressure on the government of the day. To show the people that government cannot protect them, and its a psychological warfare” Dailytab24 political analyst, Ifeanyi Chijioke says.
Since the military took power by force, they have not been able to confidently push back against attacks. Despite the promises made to the people, insecurity continues to thrive.
The military turned their focus to Russia, but the change has not brought quiet in the country. Instead, the military has faced criticisms for their mishandling of critics.
