Political spectators has been thrown into a frenzy as Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has paid a visit to Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady, during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrationon on Monday.
This visit was publicized by Busola Kukoyi, media aide to the first lady in a post shared on his official X handle.
Kukoyi stated, “Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came felicitating on the Sallah Celebration on Monday 17th June.”
Meanwhile, this is coming two days after the former President was captured wearing a cap with President Bola Tinubu’s emblem.
The development stirred disbelief and various reactions, as Nigerians wonder if Obasanjo had switched his support to Mr Tinubu or even genuinely supported Mr Peter obi from the onset.
Recall that in the build-up to the 2023 election, Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), for the number one seat in the country against Bola Tinubu.
