The Super Eagles coach, Finidi George has reportedly resigned from his role as the head coach of Nigeria’s national football team barely two months after his appointment.
This startling resignation was believed to be triggered by the choice of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to bring in a foreign technical adviser on Thursday.
His resignation was confirmed by former Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, via his social media account.
Toyin tweeted, “Breaking News: Finidi George @FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his @NGSuperEagles manager position,”.
Meanwhile, Finidi who took over the coaching baton on April 29, 2024, following the expiration of Jose Peseiro’s contract, had a brief tenure marked by a 1-1 draw against South Africa and a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
