Messi left his boyhood club Barcelona after a financial issue led the club to massive cut down to meet the financial fair play standard set by Spanish FA. It was a long and protracted issue, with rumors saying the Barcelona talisman didn’t want to sacrifice for the stability of the club.

Messi soon was on the move after every effort to stay in his lovely club where he achieved everything failed. But his switch to PSG didn’t go as planned. Firstly, settling in Paris with his wife and three children was a massive issue, as his family spent a chunk of their time in hotel to gradually find the much needed home to aid his settling in his new club.

His first season in Paris was turbulent as his all year scoring record was dismal, he netted just six times while providing fourteen assist. His poor return for the club did stop the club from claiming the French League. It was believed to be fair for a debutant; more so for scoring the very important goal that clinched the title for the club.

The following season; the now world cup winner was expected to have settled and show his mettle, but much of the mettle was shown on the world stage where he led Argentina to their third world cup triumph, netting second most goals and claiming the best player award.

Sixteen goals and sixteen assist was not a bad return for PSG the following season; but things soon got soured.

Failure to win the elusive Champions League for the Paris Club invited attacks and criticisms; with protests and boos coming afterwards. The actions of a section of Paris FC led to dissatisfaction that would later force Messi out of the Club.

“My departure from Barcelona to Paris was not something I wanted” the world cup champion said “I did not want to leave and it happened from one day to the next, it also took a while for me to quickly get used to a totally different place, both in the city and in sports and made difficult” he added during a pre-Leagues Cup final press conference yesterday, Thursday.

“But that is the complete opposite of what is happening to me here, thank God” he said. Indicating he has well settled and returned to his very best in Inter Miami, after scoring 9 goals in just seven appearances.

“We are finishing settling in, we have only been in Miami for a month and a half, we still do not have the house where we are going to stay definitively, although we are very well where we are” he said and continued mesmerizing on the passion and happiness in US.

“But it was very easy for me to adapt because we were convinced to come to this place and the people made everything very easy, both the club and the fans and the people I meet on the street. The city is spectacular and makes it possible for me to live day-to-day in peace” he added.

Unlike what happened in Paris, Messi sees the beautiful side of life in US and would soon enroll his kids in one of the best schools around. “The kids will start school soon too and that also makes you settle in so even though we still have a bit to go, everything was much easier than we thought because the change from Barcelona to Paris was complicated and this was totally different” he said about life in US.
