Hamas Reviewing US Backed Hostage Deal Approved By Israel
Immediately US President announced that a hostage deal has been outlined and that Israel has given approval of the deal, but Hamas was yet to approve the deal at the time of his speech.
Shortly after, Hamas reacted to the deal, in same way it had reacted to other deals that didn’t go through.
It is unconfirmed if the transmitted proposal has reached the terrorist group, but has reacted largely on what Joe Biden said during his announcement speech.
Joe Biden touched the aspect of the deal which includes phasing-end to the war, and at all cost, Hamas is ready to take a deal that ends the war.
The terrorists organization said it’s “positively reviewing the deal” while stating its main demands, which boils down to – end the war.
The terrorist organization disclosed they are in alignment with Biden, who had just noted that the deal would lead to permanent end of the war.
The announcement by President Joe Biden remarked that Hamas will not be in control of Gaza, but assured the war would end.
That is a conflicting statement, because to end the rule of Hamas in Gaza, Israel must fight on, until Hamas has been eradicated from the Strip.
Hamas aligning with statement of not being in power after the war appears to also be strange, although, everyone has a strategy to gain advantage.
It’s still unclear what Hamas’s response would be, but it’s very hard to predict at this early stage.
The terrorist group is being decimated by Israel, and all their energy is focused on ending the war.
Israel is operating in Rafah after months of delay, and a deal that ends the war now leaves Hamas with a life line to bouncing back.
Israel has not announced total liberation of Rafah, so, hostage deal remains complicated.
The terrorist group continues to be tactical, insisting on a particular demand and has not shown flexibility.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister has spoken out of frustrations – complaining that Israel has been put under pressure, while leaving out Hamas.
He further said that negotiators have always told Israel to be flexible, and that Israel has listened to them and has shown flexibility while Hamas remained static.
Hamas response yesterday indicates they are not ready to change their previous position which Israel said is “delusional”.
While Hamas has often evaded pressure, Joe Biden has called the latest deal “comprehensive” and said that “Qatar, Egypt and other Middle Eastern Countries” were responsible for the new proposal. He placed the burden of ending the war on Hamas.
After the review, Hamas is expected to communicate to Qatar or Egypt if they accepted the deal or not.
Often, Hamas prepare a counter-proposal that meets their own demands if it rejects a proposal.
The last proposal that had lead to a ceasefire was allegedly altered by Egypt to suit the demands of Hamas.
Hamas quickly announced they had accepted the deal, but the announcement was rejected at a spot by Israel who disclosed the proposal Hamas accepted was not the proposal negotiators put forward.
Joe Biden’s speech seemed to rightly put pressure on Hamas, while praising Israel for the flexibility it has shown to return its hostages.
A reply from Hamas is standing on the line – in-between ceasefire and hostage release.
