Kanu is willing for negotiation with FG, we have his mandate through our contacts

The embattled leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has called for political negotiation with the federal government of Nigeria after a proxy meeting with the leadership of IPOB political wing.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Emereonye Nwachukwu, the spokesman of the group.

The political wing also indicated that the wife of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu is the role model of what they are chasing, and that they wish to work closely with her to champion the effort to politically solve the problem of Ndi Igbo.

The statement further disclosed that political negotiation was embraced by Kanu when he signed and sealed agreement with Obiano and Atiku for election to be held, insisting that political negotiation is not new to the detained separatist leader.

The statement reads, “In a common sense move to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu is released, we have been reaching out to political leaders who have the interest of Ala Igbo at heart to prevail on the federal government of Nigeria. We keep fighting without noise for the release of Nnamdi Kanu through political negotiations.

“It is pertinent to know that endless talks and killing of our people cannot release Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB-DOS activities cannot release Nnamdi Kanu, only the politically motivated negotiation being influenced by IPW can lead to the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We have held proxy meetings with Kanu and can confirm he wants political negotiation.

“Chinasa Nworu and Chika Edoziem have been causing more problems for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the comfort of their zones. They sleep well, see their wives and children, without minding what Nnamdi Kanu is passing through.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said many times during his court appearance that he wants peace to reign, and he even said he was willing to negotiate with the attorney General for out of court settlement. Mazi has shown the willingness IPW is championing today. So, we are working together with him for a profitable solution.

“We have been in discussion with Nnamdi Kanu through our sources who speak, visit and reach him by all means. We are very happy to know that he supports amicable settlement of this whole quagmire.

“It’s noteworthy to take into consideration that Nnamdi Kanu once asked for activation of section 17 of the Federal High Court Act of the federal republic of Nigeria’s constitution.

“We understood the plea was not accepted by the federal government and to make things easier for Nnamdi Kanu by ensuring he is released, IPW is well positioned to facilitate every Nnamdi Kanu’s desires.

“We urge our people to be calm and listen to IPW, the paradigm is shifting away from criminals in the struggle. We want to restore the pride of Ndigbo and through committed political involvement ensure a level playing ground and independence like Scotland”

“Bianca Ojukwu is there for us and many others, they have occupied positions that brings us closer to what we aspire in Nigeria. And with her, Nnamdi Kanu’s situation is softened. That is what we want and we will work with her to make sure Kanu is released”
