Edo update: APC claims to be leading PDP; PDP candidate chased out of INEC office

By Dailytab24.

The ruling Nigerian party has declared they are comfortably leading the opposition party in the Edo State governorship election despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yet to announce the final result.

The ruling party was quoted by the party spokesperson to say they are “comfortably” leading PDP.

The election was conducted yesterday while collation began late evening until now. All parties are vigilant, waiting for the final result in an election largely said to be unfair.

APC and PDP are in a tight race with momentum able to shift to either side. The collations and local governments final sortings of results are nearing final declaration.

The Labour Party, which was seen as a third force capable of winning the state, has failed woefully, with the party not close to contention.

This further opens the eyes of the Labour Party to the need to embrace unground politics and forget social media politics.

The Labour Party did more of its campaign on social media while abandoning the realities of Nigerian politics, which involve unground hard work.

The incumbent governor of the state, whose candidate runs under PDP, was walked out of the state collation centre after the APC protested his presence in the INEC state secretariat.

The sitting governor was walked out by the police, as the APC accused him of trying to influence the collation and cause violence because his party was trailing.

The claim of the APC cannot be independently verified by Dailytab24 as INEC has not announced the final result.
