Afraid assassination attempt on Donald Trump could give him electoral victory, opposition downplays the narrative

In 1987, Ronald Reagan survived the assassination attempt and went on to become the president of the United States of America in a landslide victory.

History is on course to repeat itself, but now with a different destiny and in a different time, when the United States of America is deeply divided.

Former president Donald Trump lost his reelection to President Biden in 2020, and since the bitter loss, the former president has faced multiple indictments.

The election was one of the hottest elections contested in the United States of America, leading to the former president accusing Democrats of rigging. The accusation has been viewed from a desperate lens, with analysts saying Donald Trump couldn’t stomach his clear electoral loss.

Capitol Hill was invaded by protesting MAGA supporters, prompting what had turned a dangerous event if not for the intervention of the National Guard and speech by Donald Trump urging his supporters to go home.

The incident led to the deaths of Americans, though just a few, it was enough to be considered a threat to the United States of American democracy.

Donald Trump took the blame. He was accused of being behind the dangerous January 6 Capitol Hill incident.

Trump, who struggled to overturn the election with every lawful tool at his disposal, relied on his vice president to stop the certification of President Joe Biden, but he refused to obey Donald Trump.

Joe Biden was declared president of the United States of America, while Trump faced a series of criticisms for his alleged moves to obstruct a lawful proceeding.

It looked like the political career of the former president was over immediately President Joe Biden took over.

After a few years on, the former president is in the running again for the president. This time, leading in the polls and making significant inroads to the Oval Office for the second time.

His reelection bid forced the administration of President Joe Biden to target him with series of indictments. But the indictments have not gone to plan.

The narrative quickly changed to that President Joe Biden is using the country’s Department of Justice to interfere in election. Donald Trump accused the president of witch-hunt.

The narrative soon divided the country and underscored the beginning of what today led to the assassination attempt on the former president.

Rhetoric from both sides saturated internet space, coupled with the lawfare going on in the country.

Joe Biden’s performance gave Donald Trump the needed boost in his second term bid.

Americans wanted a change due to the significant fall of the economy, security, and border. The desire for change forced Donald Trump to seek another term in office.

The southern border of the United States became an express road for the influx of migrants, with American streets filled with migrants and the rise of dangerous drugs coming in from the border, killing American children.

Inflation skyrocketed to the point that people began to cry for solutions. Inflation reached all time high in decades, with businesses closing down and groceries unable to be bought.

Wars erupted in the world, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Hamas invasion of Israel triggering a situation that could lead to World War III.

Donald Trump held strongly on the poor performances of President Joe Biden locally and internationally as a reason for seeking second term in office. He attributed his comeback to the numerous problems facing America and the world, promising to address them.

His numbers in the poll were high, and his message was well accepted by Americans as reflected in his poll numbers. Then, Democrats knew they were in for a serious battle.

As a result of the fear of Donald Trump’s victory, Democrats turned on desperate mode.

The desperation led to the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith, who is dedicated to convict Donald Trump for crimes he was indicted for by the special counsel.

According to Donald Trump and his allies, Jack Smith was hired by President Joe Biden to convict the former president and hurt his second term bid.

The narrative of election interference whipped up sympathy for Donald Trump.

He was convicted of hush money payment to an adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Immediately after his conviction, Trump got a record donation, which reflected the sympathy he has as a result of the ongoing case.

The Assassination Attempt

Just like Ronald Reagan who didn’t shake when a balloon popped during a speech in West Berlin to show his unadulterated courage after his assassination attempt, Donald Trump raised a fist, urging his supporters to fight to show unparalleled courage immediately after surviving assassination.

His would-be assassin, Thomas Crooks took his position well on the roof top of a high rise building near the campaign ground of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, aimed accurately to take out the former president, but split seconds head turn saved the president.

The assassination attempt took everyone by surprise. Questions were asked by Americans who wondered how the secret service failed to monitor or protect the most dangerous place within the campaign ground.

As shots rang out, Donald Trump felt his ear before ducking and being serenaded by the secret service agents.

Blood dripped out of his ear to his face. He was pinned down firmly before being taken off the stage after the shooter was confirmed dead.

Rally attendees got injured while a brave father died while shielding his family. The campaign abruptly came to an end with a bleeding former president rushed to the hospital.

Firstly, a video of the assassination being dubbed stage-managed began to circulate on social media, with hundreds of million views.

The video was in circulation, while Trump supporters tried the conspiracy theory that the former president was targeted by Democrats.

Officially, Donald Trump and President Joe Biden knew political rhetoric was the cause of the assassination.

They spoke after the assassination and knew it was time to end dangerous rhetoric in the country.

The would-be assassin acted alone, and President Joe Biden condemned political violence of any nature in the country.  He reminded Americans that political violence has no place in the country.

Trump also called for unity, reminding Americans that despite elections coming with disagreements, Americans are one people and should not condone political violence.

Post Assassination Attempt

Trump appeared in the public after being treated of the injury to his right ear with a bandage but was accused of making a “spectacle” off it.

The critique was issued by MSNBC host Ari Melber in quote.

“A spectacle for this candidate who we know is, by his own admission, obsessed with assorted spectacles. There is a political quest here to mine and use Donald Trump’s injury, and whether his allies and Republicans or the candidate himself do that in a way that overextends their credibility, will be decided by the voters.”

MSNBC political analyst Michael Steele also chipped in his own view to discredit the seriousness of the shot and opined Donald Trump was taking advantage of the assassination attempt’s wound.

“There are a lot of questions around that ear, and yet there’s been no response to that. Instead, just showing the image of the man coming into into the hall with the wounded ear, ”

The view of the hosts technically gives credence to the initial effort to discredit the assassination attempt on Donald Trump because there is palpable fear it could lead to his electoral victory like Ronald Reagan.

It’s clear that the former president escaped assassination attempt miraculously, and the political divide in the country contributed to it.

It’s a fact that will forever be part of America – that on Saturday, in Butler, Pennsylvania, a former president was targeted in a failed assassination attempt. Period!
