Imo boils again – Police to go after killers of three

Recall that three vigilante personnel were killed at Umuaka of Umuaka community in Njaba Local Government Arar of Imo State on Sunday.

The personnel were trailed and killed by unknown gunmen while on duty. The incident has drawn the anger of the Commissioner of Police in Imo State.

Aboki Danjuna condemned the attack that led to the murder of the vigilante personnel and vowed to mobilize the police force in the state to go after the gunmen.

Speaking for the Imo State police, Police Public Relations Officers, ASP Henry Okoye said in a press statement on Monday that the commissioner of police in the state has deployed the command’s Tactical Squad.

“In the wake of the tragic incident that claimed the lives of three gallant vigilantes who were on routine crime prevention patrol and a passerby, th3 Commissioner of Police has deployed the command’s Tactical Squad with the available operational resources to go all out in synergy with other security agencies and hunt down the hoodlums responsible for the dastardly act” the statement said.

Aboki Danjuma is determined to see that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book to pass a clear message of intolerance.

Imo State continues to be a flash point for insecurity in the Southeast, with the activities of unknown gunmen taking significant toll on the government.

Problem began  in the state after the inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodinma, whose unexpected victory in the court led to instability in the state.

Political turmoil soon boiled over with Biafra activities orchestrated by ESN largely affected soldiers and police.

Danjuma also sympathised with the families of the deceased vigilante personnel. Vowing to bring them to justice.
