Danger Lurking: Iran has issued a fresh warning to Israel
Middle-East:
Iran has issued a fresh warning to Israel, insisting that the “Zionists” once made a grave mistake by attacking Iranian embassy in Lebanon. This is reference to a strike in the compound of Iranian embassy which was carried out by Israel that killed top commanders of Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
According to Iran’s IRNA news report, he boasted that after the strike, Israel paid the price of such action by “receiving a crushing response”
Iran is known for boastful comments to entice or mislead Iranians into believing they are dealing a huge blow to Israel. The citizens of the Islamic country are facing excruciating economic pain, as a result of sanctions against it by US and European countries.
Before issuing the warning, the acting foreign minister took his time to narrate the false story of how Iran was able to deal with Israel, and hence if Israel fails to learn a lesson, that more blows will be dealt to Jerusalem.
His comments are quite untrue. After Israel attacked the compound of the Iranian embassy, Iran fired missiles at Israel in retaliation, but 99 percent of the missiles were intercepted by Israel and coalition led by US. The only missile that made it to Israel injured a Israeli child of Bedouin origin.
The comments were made by the acting foreign minister of Iran, who took over after the death of his predecessor in an helicopter crash.
He is currently on a State visit in Iraq, where he has met with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji. The visit is his first foreign visit since taking over the diplomatic office.
The latest warning to Israel is regarding Lebanon. The foreign minister warned that Israel should not attack Lebanon. He said that the “ramification could backfire against the Zionist as a result of the conflict”
The warning has become a trend for Iran, who at all turn chooses to warn Israel. Before the incursion of Gaza, Iran warned Israel against invading Gaza. Israel went ahead to making the move.
Bagheri Kani has quite followed the footsteps of his predecessor, who derives joy in issuing incessant warnings to Israel.
Hezbollah has intensified the firing of rockets into Israel, with over 315 rockets fired in a space of 72 hours.
The attack against Israel from the northern border is supported by Iran. Iran continues to arm Hezbollah and play significant roles in actions and reactions of the terrorist organization.
Israel is building massive troops on the border with Lebanon with confrontation a possibility. It has evacuated citizens, and Hezbollah has continued to fire rockets with reckless abandon.
Israel is being held down by its allies, with US and France insisting that diplomatic approach should be embraced in solving the conflict with Hezbollah. Hezbollah has not shown sign of stopping its daily attack, with Israel’s patient running out.
Israel has said that the reality in the North must change, and that warrants military confrontation with Lebanon. Iran may have warned Israel against invading Lebanon, but the warning will not be heeded if Hezbollah continues to attack Israel.
