Israel’s Prime Minister Approves Another Hostage Deal

“for the past several months, my negotiators of foreign policy, intelligence community, and the like have been relentlessly focused not just on a ceasefire that would inevitably be fragile and temporary but on a durable end to the war. That’s been the focus: a durable end to this war” Joe Biden says while giving update on the hostage deal.

The war in Gaza has significantly affected Biden’s chance of second tenure. Democrats tend to lean to the left, and the war in Gaza is against the left-wing.

He is determined to end the war, but Israel is more determined to destroy Hamas – making a conflict of interest inevitable.

Benjamin Netanyahu has given a green light to the US backed hostage outline, in a determined effort to release the remaining 130 Israeli hostages.

This is coming weeks after hostage deal negotiation met a dead end.

Israeli government has been largely accused of abandoning the hostages due to the hard-line position of the Prime Minister – not caving to pressure and insisting that there are red lines for Israel.

Protesters in Israel want everything on the table for the release of the Hostages.

Hamas has demanded end to the war, withdrawal of Israeli soldiers and and reconstruction of Gaza Strip.

The terrorists group has made the three cardinal demands its only trigger for a hostage release.

Prime Minsister of Israel has been placed under immense pressure to do everything, but caving in to Hamas demand will amount to Israel losing the war.

There were objectives set before the incursion, and admitting Hamas conditions will amount to failing to meet the objectives.

US President has been highly committed to ending the war, as the war continues to threaten his re-election.

Desperate to end the war, Joe Biden must first secure the release of all the hostages before he can have sufficient ground to pressure Israel to end its military operation in Gaza.

Netanyahu remains adamant that Hamas will be destroyed and Gaza demilitarilized, arguing that is the only way another October 7 can be avoided.

After the October 7 attack that killed over 1200 Israelis, Hamas vowed that they would repeat another October 7. They swore the repetition would be infinite until Israel is taken off the world geography.

The new deal is focused on enduring ceasefire, and not directly ending the war, with promise of ending it eventually.

US is confident that the war can end if a ceasefire is first achieved.

US continues to urge Hamas through proxies to first accept a deal, because outright demand for military withdrawal is not plausible.

Speaking after the news of the new hostage deal, Prime Minister Benjamin said “The Government of Israel is united in its desire to return the hostages as soon as possible and is working to achieve this goal”

“The Prime Minister authorized the negotiating team to present a proposal to that end, which would also enable Israel to continue the war until all its objectives are achieved, including the destruction of Hamas’s military governing capabilities”

He further noted that the deal put in place is categorized into different phases but did not detail the nature of the deal.

The deal appears to answer questions asked of Hamas while also sticking with the no-end-to-war policy.
