3 Conspiracy Theory Behind The Worrying Deaths Of Nollywood Actors

By Dailytab24.

Amaechi Muonagor is the latest death in the Nigerian Actors Guild. Nollywood keep losing its actors in significant number, having to suffer losses every year. The consistent loss of legends/artistes over the years have raised questions which brought about the conspiracy theory that the actors are dying because of their anti-cultural movies and half-baked messages that didn’t help the society.

“These actors deserve to be punished because they destroyed the society and inculcated unreal and untrue character in us” a once Nollywood fan said before conceding that he has long stopped watching Nigerian films. Nigerian films lost its value after social media took prominence in the country.

“Nollywood will continue to suffer and be devalued because they didn’t work hard to educate the society, instead they focused on producing nonsense, repeating their poor films. If you watch a film, you already know where it’s going. If it’s not teaching you how to be rich through money rituals, it is teaching you how to love without hard work and there is practically no atom of lesson there” Another fan said.

Nigerian film industry has not improved over the years, and didn’t help to mitigate substandard and poor contents. There was no union or measures to help improve the standard of film productions in the country, which significantly led to immature and poor films making it into the market every week.

The industry focused on making money instead of building an industry that would educate and challenge on the world stage. Nigerian film industry has no strong writers association, knowing that script writers are the bedrock of standard films in any country’s film industry. Script writers in Nigerian film industry consists of quacks, and without a board to scrutinize a script. Poorly scripted projects are carried out.

Basically, number one conspiracy theory that has been attributed to the cause of the numerous deaths of Nigerian actors/actresses is the harm that they did to the society. Many Nigerians believe that the industry didn’t work on positively influencing the society. The industry was more focused on spreading lies and making money. Teaching the society evil, instead of improve and sought to positively lift the society.

Number two is treatment of female artistes. In the Nollywood, a conspiracy theory exist that male actors and producers subject female artistes to sexual molestation. And most female artistes are not chosen by character or talent, but their willingness to sell their bodies or use their bodies to secure roles. This practice led to the diminish of the Nigerian film industry instead of improve it with talents.

Number three is the cultural adverse. The conspiracy theorists believe that Nollywood didn’t promote Nigerian diverse cultures, instead, they focused on foreign culture and distortion of cultural beliefs and practices.

“Where did they get the concept of ritual? In Igbo culture, there is nothing like ritual, what we have is awale. They failed to educate the people to understand that the ritual society is a practice of Freemason and other occult groups practiced by the West. Our culture is founded on justice, love, and purity, but they distorted it, making cultural practices unattractive” another fan turned rival said.
