Pope Francis Abandons African Wars – Speaks About Ukraine And Gaza

By Dailytab24.

Pope Francis has called for peace and negotiation to end the war in Ukraine and Gaza, leaving behind the wars in Africa. The Pontiff made the remark during his weekly audience in St Peter’s Square. The remark solely focused on people of his interest, without mention of Sudan and Haiti conflicts that have displaced millions and killed tens of thousands.

“We should never forget that war is always a defeat. We cannot continue in war, we should make all efforts to mediate, to negotiate and bring an end to the war, lets pray for this” he pleaded specifically on the wars Ukraine and Gaza. The call followed after his previous suggestion to Ukraine, in which he asked them to surrender to Russia.

The 87years old Pope continues to battle colds and bronchitis, posing mobility challenge to him. his health condition has drastically cut down his public appearance, and forcing him to read just a few lines of pre-prepared text.

The Pope is considered the highest religious body in the world, and his words are taken seriously by the world. Since his inception as a Pope, he has focused more on Europe and America, while abandoning African problems. The recent time he mentioned Africa was on his controversial gay statetemen, in which he said Africa might not understand his position for the time being.

Sudan war is one of the worst wars in recent history which has been neglected, while citizens loath. The war has led to famine according to United Nations, and caused the displacement of millions of Africans, much more than Gaza and Ukraine. Despite the numbers in Sudan, the Pope considers it not worth speaking about.

United Nations continue to complain about world’s inattention to the plight of humanity in Sudan, while aid continues to elude the victims of the war there. While millions of Dollars goes in aid to Gaza, nothing goes in aid to Sudan, while crime against humanity is allowed to flourish in the country.

This is not the first time the Pope has talked about wars. In the beginning of the month, he commented about Ukraine, suggesting that Ukraine should surrender to Russia to end the sufferings of Ukrainians. In his words “show the courage of the white flag” and negotiate for peace with Russia. The religious leader opined that Russia is superior to Ukraine and should have its way.

The Pope was sharply criticized for his comments which were considered supportive of Russia. Russia invaded Ukarine and sought to annex the country for leaning on the West. The war has cost lives and displaced Ukrainians.

His deputy, Cardinal Pietro Parolin later clarified in defense of the Pope that his number one is in agreement that Russia should first stop the aggression. The clarification pointed that peace starts when Russia stops the war and that is what the Pontiff believes.

Russia appreciated the comments of the Pope and thanked him for standing on its side. To date, the Pope has not commented on the war in Sudan or Haiti.

The inattention United Nations continue to complain about the war in Sudan is fully expressed by the Pope whose words can attract attention on the sufferings of Sudanese and Haitians.
