In Sudan Army killed more than 42 people
Invitation By Daily Tab24. Updated: Sep 12, 2023.
The photos being circulated online – where dead bodies wrapped in white sheets in a hospital’s dumpsite is the height of the inhumanity going on in Sudan. The picture was taken by healthcare workers, working on humanitarian basis to save lives in Sudan. The lives being taken in Sudan is simply as a result of the political ambition of two men who have lost their heads.
Sudan, a country submerged in conflict by the ambition of two men seeking to control the country – political ambition that was supposed to go through the ballot eventually turned into armed conflict; with either of the group seeking to kill or eliminate each other.
Khartoum is the capital of Sudan, a capital that has seen blood and fierce fighting since the war began. Khartoum is believed to be strategic to who controls Sudan, and the military base in Khartoum is subject of a prolonged fighting between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
A drone attack on a market in the south of the capital reportedly killed more than 42 people, the confirmation of the report came from activists and medical workers who are on ground for humanitarian duties. The drone attack came as the battle between paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and the army leadership battle for control over the African country.
There has been apprehension in the capital – whether the drone attack was premeditated or a striking error. The two bloodsucking leaders have been blinded by their ambitions and often target areas that doesn’t support them. The drone attack came as a surprise because it was on an open market; where civilians gather to make ends meet.
In the war turn Khartoum, life is unbearable as hundreds of thousands have fled to safer locations and others to neighboring countries. Activists and human rights groups have stayed back to give humanitarian aid. Medical assistance is the most needed aid, as hunger related-diseases continue to ravage the country.
More than 80 others were injured in the attack in Mayo, the report was made by resistance committee and medical workers. The casualties of the drone attack are being treated at Bashair University Hospital, the state of the casualties are miserable as most of them would be amputated to avoid being infected and eventually losing their lives.
I cannot explain if this was deliberate or a mistake, there have been instances of human shielding since the war began. The factions want pressure to be on either side, because where international support goes is important to them. The Rapid Support Forces are celebrating this, saying the army is killing civilians and will be sanctioned by international community.
I also spoke with Daily Tab24 journalist monitoring the war in Sudan for his verdict. He made it clear what is going on in Sudan is a killing fest.
The identities of the victims wrapped in white sheets have not been known, but there is strong indication the victims are all civilians who had come to the market to purchase or sell what they have to survive the war. Market is a humanitarian structure that should not be attacked for whatsoever reason, because armed fighters are not in the market, they have their welfare taken care of by their leaders.
Shelling without precision is a major problem in Khartoum; the factions often shell at random, leading to civilian casualties. The war lacks tactics and often follow air-attacks that end up destroying everywhere. Shelling and air-attack are the most devastating approaches, and the approaches have turned Khartoum to ruins.
The people of Sudan are the worst hit because the warring leaders have refused to give humanitarian relief to the people. Ceasefire has been neglected since two months, making life quite unbearable for the people. There is also no end in sight for the war, with talks still not brokered between the army and paramilitary forces.
